Director of Facilities Operations

Job Summary:

Responsible for all duties, activities and management responsibilities required to achieve the construction, installation and maintenance schedules for multiple sites. Work closely with the VP of Operations and Facilities Manager, architects, engineers and senior leadership in the planning process for new sites and/or reconfigurations to ensure all projects conform to quality standards, specifications and building codes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all construction schedules are coordinated to include overall facility issues, including, but not limited to maintenance and repairs, building reconfiguration, electrical and HVAC work, cleaning services and building security
  • Oversee large maintenance projects to include on-site practices and drive all timelines to ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Review all schedules, daily photos of construction sites, change orders and close out documentation and ensure that all schedules are kept.
  • Oversee and maintain contact with General Contractors, Sub Contractors and track all paperwork.
  • Develop survey sources by market.
  • Monitor tracking reports/department analytics and progress and update senior management daily.
  • Confirm all purchase items are scheduled for delivery.
  • Ensure all projects conform to quality standards, specifications and regulations to include all federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures, and instructions.
  • Take steps to ensure projects and programs maximize cost effectiveness and are on budget.
  • Coordinate and monitor site terms, site surveys and applicable restrictions and building improvements.
  • Work with operations and sites leadership to ensure facility layout, maintenance, improvements and the optimization of equipment and workflows.
  • Extensive travel to include construction visits and facility maintenance programs.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture and engineering or other engineering discipline preferred. Experience can substitute for degree.
  • Experience in construction related fieldwork, interior finish-out, architectural background and comprehension of construction documents and details.

Language Skills:

  • Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, site/plat surveys, real estate contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the general public

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components
  • Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
  • Noise level varies from quiet to loud
  • Temperature varies from hot to cold
  • Overnight travel is required
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
